Beautiful bottles embodying memorable wine for time spent with friends
Nestled in California’s Sierra Foothills, our friends at Naggiar Vineyards are known for creating memorable wine experiences and were ready to embark on a new adventure–creating a secondary label. After working together on various small projects, we had the opportunity to collaborate with Naggiar to bring this brand to life, including naming and label design.
We sought to create a name for the new label and blends that focused on the wines’ flavors and served as a subtle nod to the region. Our process started in discovery with a market analysis and strategy of how to best position the new label, paired with a full exploration for the name and design direction. The end result? Beautiful labels that embody each wine and intrigue palates.
The brand name NV was selected to represent Naggiar Vineyards and subtly point to the region of their estate-grown grapes. Its simplicity also lended itself to be easily remembered.
For the names of the wine blends, we took a thematic approach and created an aesthetic that expresses each wine’s notes and sophistication. We selected midnight florals from the region and gave them a polished treatment to evoke rich, romantic visuals as the label’s featured element. We paired the florals with art deco-inspired typography for a timeless look with a modern edge.
NV’s 2014 Grand Violette was rated 90 points in Wine Enthusiast’s Best of 2016 issue.
